DISCIPLINE POLICY FOR ENFORCING RULES AND REGULATIONS:

1^st Offense: Warning-state rule and appropriate behavior

2^nd time of same behavior: 5 minute time out

3^rd time of same behavior: Lifeguards should use their own judgement but try to be as consistent as possible. If the person was running (or something similar) for a 3^rd time then a time out is appropriate. But if the patron is misbehaving and getting out of hand (cursing, fighting, pushing someone in) they may be told to leave.

All warnings (above minor incidents such as running), time outs and dismissal will be documented by the lifeguards in the Discipline Report book.

After the patron has been written up in the Discipline Report book 15 times or more, a copy of these reports and a letter will be sent to the parent/guardian to notify them of the child’s behavior.
